Twitter

Your RS Store Website comes with a integrated social media functionality which allows you to customers to "Like" your Facebook page, "Follow" you on Twitter, "follow" you on Google+ and "subscribe" to your YouTube Channel. To manage these features, select “Social Media” from the Site Admin dropdown menu. Once selected, the following dialog box will be displayed on the screen.

  • To change the order in which your social sites are displayed in the Like Us/Follow Us dropdown, use the "Up" and "Down" buttons.
  • To delete a social site, click on the red "X" next to the tab you want to remove.
  • To add a new social site, click on the "Add Social Media" button.
  • To edit a social site, click on the pencil icon next to the site you want to edit.
  • Click the "Close" button to save your changes.

ADDING/EDITING TWITTER

  • Select Twitter from the Select The Social Media You Are Configuring dropdown menu if not already selected
  • In the Data Widget ID field, enter your Twitter Widget ID. If you do not have an App ID, see the "How to get your Twitter Widget ID" section below.
  • In the Link to Twitter Page, enter the complete web address of your Twitter page.
  • In the Your Store Twitter Username Without the @ field, enter your Twitter username, but do not include the "@" symbol.
  • Select the "Show On Mobile" check box, if you want the Like Us/Follow Us links to appear on the mobile version of your website (recommended).
  • Select the "Show On PC View Popup and Home Page Introduction" check box if you want the Like Us/Follow Us links to appear on the PC version of your website. (recommended).
  • Click the "Save" button to save your changes.

HOW TO GET YOUR TWITTER WIDGET ID

  1. Sign in to your Twitter account.
  2. Click on your profile picture on the top right of your screen, and select Settings from the dropdown menu (shown below)

  3. Once your account profile opens, on the left-hand side menu, click on the menu item "Widgets"
  4. On the Widgets page, click on the Create New button.
  5. On the first tab (User Timeline) enter your Twitter Username and click on Create Widget (shown below)

  6. When the page refreshes, look at the address bar. Your Widget ID is the 18-digit number that you see right after "widgets/" in the address bar (see example below). Enter this number in the Data Widget ID field.
