Store Map Settings

Your RS Store Website has a built-in Google Map with your store's location already identified. However, Google doesn't always get it right based on address alone, especially in newer areas. You can use this tool to pin point your stores exact location as well as change the Zoom Level for each of your maps and edit the Map Label Comment. To manage these settings select "Store Map Settings" from the Site Admin dropdown menu. Once selected, the following dialog box will be displayed on the screen.

GEO COORDINATES — Select Use Geographic Coordinates for Mapping button:

  • If the "pin" for your store is in the wrong location, click on the "Geocode Coordinate Finder" button.
  • Once selected, the following dialog box will be displayed on the screen.

  • Click and drag the pin to the correct location of your store.
  • Click "Save Coordinates" when done.
  • You will be returned to the previous screen with correct coordinates now listed.

  • You can adjust the Zoom Level of each map on your website. The Small Map is displayed in the header of all pages. The Large Map is displayed on the Contact Us page only. The higher the number selected from the dropdown menu, the closer in the zoom level.
  • The Map Label Comment allows you to provide descriptive text about your location that will be displayed in the pop-up message when your "Pin" is clicked (i.e. On the corner of Main St. & 2nd Ave., arcross the street from Walmart).

STORE ADDRESS — Select Use Store Address For Mapping button:

  • The Store Address field display's your current address, which Google uses to dictate where the pin is located. If the address is displaying the pin in the wrong location, select the "Use Geographic Coordinates For Mapping" button and move the pin to the correct location.
